ASI PERIPHERAL MEET 2023
The Department of General Surgery conducted the ASI peripheral meet in association with ASI Kerala chapter and Calicut Surgical Club on 25th and 26th of February, 2023 at Malabar Medical College and Research Centre.
The Meet was officially inaugurated by hon: Chairman Mr. Anil Kumar Vallil in the esteemed presence of ASI state leaders Dr. Binny John (ASI President) and Dr. Jayan Stephen (ASI Secretary) along with Dr. MP Sasi (Organizing Chairman & HOD) and Dr. PV Narayanan (Principal MMC).
Recent advances and ideas in the surgical field were discussed by eminent faculties. Experts of various surgical super specialities delivered presentations on relevant topics such as robotic surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair, breast oncoplasty, liver resections, latest modalities of peripheral vascular disease management and latest approaches to complicated ulcer treatment.
Quiz, paper presentation and poster presentation competitions were conducted for post graduates. Prizes including cash awards were distributed to the winners. The most senior and admired surgeons of the state Prof P Rajan and Prof Dayananda Babu were honoured during the occasion. The valedictory function was concluded by the vote of thanks by Dr. Dinesh Babu (Organizing Secretary). The meet has grabbed attention, for the active participation of about 200 surgeons and postgraduates from different parts of the state.
